Colorado Mountain Dogs are a breed in development and have been in development for over the last 15 years!
Livestock Guardian Dog used mainly for the protection of flocks and guarding of properties specifically from predatory animals, with traits selected for small acreage farming (less wandering, less barking, greater ease with unknown people). Secondarily, the CMD will protect people in agricultural settings, and on the hiking trail from predatory animals.
Our Colorado mountain dogs have also moved into new homes to be therapy animals as the dad of our litter was to many children working alongside his mother in therapy for children and people of all ages.
A puppy from our Khalessi X Harley litter is currently living on base with a Fort Carson soldier as a therapy dog and is thriving.
These dogs are expected to weigh anywhere from 80-150lbs so preparing for a large dog is very important when considering adopting.
