Colorado Mountain Dogs are a breed in development and have been in development for over the last 15 years!
Livestock Guardian Dog used mainly for the protection of flocks and guarding of properties specifically from predatory animals, with traits selected for small acreage farming (less wandering, less barking, greater ease with unknown people). Secondarily, the CMD will protect people in agricultural settings, and on the hiking trail from predatory animals.
Our Colorado mountain dogs have also moved into new homes to be therapy animals as the dad of our litter was to many children working alongside his mother in therapy for children and people of all ages.
A puppy from our Khalessi X Harley litter is currently living on base with a Fort Carson soldier as a therapy dog and is thriving.
These dogs are expected to weigh anywhere from 80-150lbs so preparing for a large dog is very important when considering adopting.

Honey is a Colorado Mountain Dog G3. 76% Great Pyrenees and 24% Anatolian Shepherd Dog.
She adjusted to the guard life right under her one year mark when she was rehomed to us and we immediately put her into our prospective breeding program. She was one of her Breeders top picks for prospective program and we are thrilled to have her in our program. Honey is extremely intelligent and alert. She is serious in her bark and means business. She does well with nondominant dogs. Honey loves her family and those she deems worthy within her pack. Clear Embark.
Khalessi is 100% Great Pyrenees. Khalessi is our more reserved girl, but she LOVES her job. She does not over bark and stays near home. Khalessi does great with our kids and thrives around goats/ sheep and horses. Khalessi can be trusted around poultry in a free range setting. She has already had one litter here who has impressed us beyond measure, and she have another pairing for her planned in the 2025 year! Her official OFAs have been complete and Clear Embark testing.
Heart is a special girl here on our homestead. She is 45% Great Pyrenees/ 33% Anatolian Shepherd Dog/ and 24% Caucasian Ovcharka. We partnered with a wonderful breeder in Elizabeth who has a project going called Grand Korumak. This program breed for a sticky dog meaning they stick close to their herd. Heart is an impeccable example of this. If her herd leaves their pasture- She's FOLLOWING. No telling her otherwise! This girl is so sweet and loving to everyone and anything. We are so excited to have her Grand Korumak litter in late 2025. Her embark is completely clear. Pending OFAs.
Rogue is an unregistered female in our program. She is 60% Anatolian shepherd and 40% Great Pyrenees mix. She will complete her OFAs at 2 years old and has passed her Embark tests. She is on the smaller side so we are waiting for a growth spurt in order to be completed evaluated for our program and registration in registry. She is amazing at her job. Rogue has her eyes on the sky and is very alert. She catch her frequently warning and chasing ariel predators out of her territory.
